About us
Ron and Eunice Hackenberger, new owners of Sunnybrook Trout Club as of January 2025, are excited to continue providing the club members with a realistic fishing experience that rivals streams in the wild, while preserving and maintaining its natural beauty.
Three of their daughters (Jewel, Carla and Ranae) will be assisting Ron and Eunice in the daily operations of the business and with the care of the property.
The family is committed to even further enhancement of the club through improvements to the stream, property grounds, and The Farrell House, contributing to Sunnybrook’s excellent reputation as a premier fishing and lodging destination in Ohio.
Sunnybrook is comprised of 70 acres of meadows, woodlands and manicured lawns. With approximately two miles of meandering stream, members enjoy ample space for amazing fly fishing opportunities and experiences.
The club currently has 250 members, and a waiting list has been established. Prospective members can pay a $100 deposit to then have their name added to this list. As openings become available, those on the waiting list will be offered a membership opportunity. The $100 deposit is then deducted from the membership dues.

For family members who do not fish, Sunnybrook offers a beautiful, relaxing property to walk, bird watch, be still and enjoy the quiet, kayak or canoe on the lake, read on the back deck, enjoy the wildflower garden along the side patio or socialize with a friend in our rocking chairs on the front porch.
Sunnybrook Trout Club is located at the intersection of US Route 6 and Ohio Route 2 on the western city limits of Sandusky, Ohio, just 2 hours from the Columbus area. Its central location places it in the heart of North East Ohio’s vacation land. Sunnybrook is a one-hour drive from both Cleveland and Toledo and an hour and a half from the Akron/Canton area.
